It's not often you get to work with a brand that you not only want to design for but also want to buy. Matblac is one such brand. A local South African mens' leather accessory company moving into the international market, the brand is as slick, touch and charismatic as its founder, Mathew Neilson.
Mat needed another eye to join him in revitalising the brand as he focused on manufacturing his products. I stepped in as joint art director, content director and brand strategist and assisting in e-commerce optimisation and advert creatives.
As part of repositioning his brand, the new product shoot focused on clean, contemporary and masculine imagery that highlighted the superb hand craftsmanship and quality of the products.
